A second Pokémon GO event is to be held on Eastbourne Pier.
Eastbourne PokéPier 2 is planned for Saturday 25 March, to raise money for Children With Cancer Fund, based in Polegate, and Embrace East Sussex, which is based in Eastbourne. It will be a chance for fans of the game to once again descend upon the landmark to meet Pikachu and catch new ‘Gen2’ monsters.
There will be a chance to have a photo with Pikachu and other Pokémon cosplayers, who will be collecting the money for the two chosen charities.
Lures will be provided for the pier’s four PokéStops throughout the two-hour event (2-4pm), to encourage the various Pokémon characters to turn up.
Entry is free, with all money raised through bucket collections on the day.
Eastbourne PokéPier 2 co-organiser Stephen Kent said, “Last year's event was a huge success with over 100 attending, £259.29 raised for Children With Cancer Fund, and we are excited to be bringing Embrace on board also.
“Pokémon GO fans have been thrilled with the new Gen 2 update, catching a range of different Pokémon from the Johto region. Who knows who will show up on the day!”
