Students in Eastbourne are being encouraged to take a different approach to their route into the workplace.
As part of National Apprenticeship Week, a team is parked up in the grounds of Sussex Downs College until 3pm today (8 March), offering advice on how apprenticeships could work for college and school leavers.
This year, apprenticeships will see some of the biggest changes they have had in a number of years. More funding and an increased range of qualifications will be made available to apprentices, meaning that they can gain an even greater range of qualifications than ever before. Stephen Burkes, the Director of Sussex Skills Solutions, said, “Apprenticeships have always had a very strong brand identity with the public but have always had certain limitations. These limitations are now being removed and people of any age can access funding regardless of their prior qualifications. Individuals can now study a new or advanced subject, related to their job role, up to Masters Level while earning a salary.”
Anyone wanting more information on apprenticeships should call 030 300 39777 or go online.
