History repeated itself for Eastbourne Borough as they crashed to defeat away to Chelmsford City in the National League South yesterday (11 March).
The Sports, found themselves on the back foot, as Bouwe Bosma came off injured, just minutes into the game, followed by the hosts netting their first goal of the game just ten minutes in.
Borough pulled together and worked hard to get back into the game, but just couldn’t find the back of the net and it was Chelmsford who were to score next in the 36th.

It was an uphill struggle for Borough to get back into the game after the break and City just made it harder, putting away their third in the 50th. Skipper, Mark Hughes nearly pulled one back just seconds later, but was denied by the keeper. Miguel Baptista then found himself picking up a yellow card.
Gavin McCullum lifted the spirits of The Sports, firing one home in the 61st, but their hosts were to score twice more before the final whistle.
The final score Chelmsford City 5 – 1 Eastbourne Borough. The same margin Eastbourne lost by to City at Priory Lane, earlier this season.
