The Eastbourne IT First Eagles have their eyes firmly on the prize going into the new season.
With the clock ticking down until tapes go up on the new campaign, team manager, Connor Dugard expects his team to go one better than previously done and bring home the league trophy.
He said, "Everyone has to be realistic in this game and that's what I am, and I personally believe we can beat any team and finally win the National League.
“The IT First Eagles came very close in 2015 having won three major trophies which the club always refer to as the #thetreble but could not take the League title. 12 months later they led Birmingham going into the away leg at Perry Barr where Connor describes "we fell apart. Maybe it was nerves maybe we just ran out of steam. We definitely missed Georgie that day but that's history and I want to rewrite history. I want that league trophy in the cabinet alongside a hat trick of KO Cup wins, as well as to regain the National Trophy having not participated in that last season.
“We aren't here to take part and make up the numbers we are here to win and improve the rider base we have too. I get a lot of stick from other team managers and promoters saying that we have made this league to professional and that we are here to win at all costs but if you look at the riders that have progressed through riding for Eastbourne I think it's fair to say that we do still promote talent through the ranks.
"We have a solid 1-7 all with potential to up their game. We are yet to have a complaint from a rider having ridden for Eastbourne and I know many would love to be back. It's a long old season and it's going to be an enjoyable one at that!"
