MP Caroline Ansell tried her hand at cardiac resuscitation at the weekend when she dropped in to support a campaign to install more defibrillators in Eastbourne.
A stand at the Arndale Centre on Saturday (11 March) kicked off the launch of the Eastbourne Heart Beat Campaign by the Eastbourne Defibrillator Partnership, which is attempting to increase the number of public access defibrillators around the town.
Members of the public were invited to learn first aid skills and handle a defibrillator and Caroline had a go.
“This is a campaign that will save lives of townspeople and visitors alike and it has my full support,” said Caroline.
“Many thanks should go to Councillor Alan Shuttleworth for all his efforts to help the campaign and to Eastbourne Borough Council for their support.
“I was impressed with just how user friendly the defibrillator was and I hope as many people as possible will get behind the campaign and learn the skills to save lives. My office team has signed up!"
