An Eastbourne school has raised funds for a new CT scanner at Eastbourne DGH.
£590.63 was raised by children at Bede’s Prep School at their carol service in December. Pupils Isla Salamon and Tom Lloyd presented the cheque to Dr Neil Barlow, Consultant Radiologist and Harry Walmsley, Chairman of the Friends of Eastbourne Hospital.
Dr Neil Barlow Consultant Radiologist said, “We are very grateful to Bede’s Prep School for their donation. The money will go towards a new state of the art CT scanner which will be faster and more powerful than our present scanner offering the opportunity to undertake more noninvasive investigations than ever before.”
Whilst at the hospital, Dr Barlow kindly showed the children the room for the new CT scanner along with explaining how a CT scanner works and the fascinating images it produces.
Bede’s Prep School has received an email of thanks on behalf of the Trustees to say how grateful they are to the Bede’s community for their support.
