More than 100 runners took part in today’s (22 May) Run to Run in aid of Polegate-based charity, Children With Cancer Fund.
One of those who took part was Colin Hayes (pictured) who led the Mini mile and carried his niece over the finish line, before going on to run the 5k himself.
Eastbourne’s Cosplay, Snow White, Spiderman and Star Wars characters were on hand to cheer on the runners.
Chris Downton, who founded the charity said, “We would like to say a very big thank you to Polegate Primary School for hosting us and holding a fair on the same day so people had something to do whilst waiting. I would also tank Ansvar and Cavendish Estate Agents, who were the main sponsors for the day with support from 4x4 Response and all the running clubs and those who took part.”
Toddlers and two-month old children in buggies were pushed around the route.
Plans are already underway for next year’s event, which will see a Mini Mile, 5k run and a 10k run. All the money raised goes towards children with cancer in East Sussex and Brighton and Hove.
