Eastbourne’s air pollution levels continue to be a key point for discussion.
Earlier this month, we reported on a World Health Organisation study, which found the town has dangerous levels of pollutants in the air. This is a claim the Borough Council wish to challenge.
Now, Eastbourne and District Friends of the Earth, are laying down a challenge to Town Hall, calling for a meeting into the issue as a matter of urgency.
In response to the call for a debate, Councillor David Tutt, Leader of the Borough Council has said: “If they’d like to discuss the whole of the air quality issue, I’d be really happy to meet with them. And if they’ve got ideas of what we could or should be doing, I’d be happy to see what we can do to improve things.”
