It was a 10 goal thriller at Priory Lane last night (21 March) as Eastbourne Borough took on Welling United in the National League South.
Nathaniel Pinney opened the scoring just five minutes in, to give Borough an early lead, which was soon lost in the 19th after The Sports failed to clear lines.
Gavin McCallum made the most of a low cross from Jamie Taylor to put the host back in front, but that was to only last a few moments before the visitors scored again, to bring the score level at 2-2 at the break.
Jamie Taylor quickly edged Borough ahead again in the 47th, but again Welling pulled back. Josh Hare was next to find the back of the net, again putting The Sport in the lead, with 10 minutes left on the clock.
Two goals in quick succession from Jamie Taylor saw him notch up a hat-trick and be declared Man of the Match. But the scoring didn’t finish there, a late goal from Nathaniel Pinney saw the final score Eastbourne Borough 7 – 3 Welling United.
