The Mayor of Eastbourne’s Edwardian Eastbourne Charity Ball raised more than £4,000 for her two chosen charities of the year.
The money will be split between Refuge, which helps women and children affected by domestic violence, and The Eastbourne Open Award Centre for the Duke of Edinburgh Award, a programme of personal development for young people.
The Mayor of Eastbourne, Councillor Pat Hearn, said, “Thank you to all those who made it such a great event - Eastbourne Operatic and Dramatic Society, Ian White the Scottish Piper, musicians from Eastbourne College, Tempo One and Kris Singh, who all appeared on the night. Also to Friends of Eastbourne Hospital Flower Shop for providing table decorations and all the local companies who donated raffle and auction prizes.
“And thanks too to everyone who came and made the night a memorable occasion.”
