A care assistant from Eastbourne has appeared before Brighton Magistrates Court, charged with attempting to cause or incite a girl aged 13-15 to engage in sexual activity.
Kerry Constable, who’s 48, appeared in custody on Saturday (24 March) and was committed for trial at Lewes Crown Court, with an initial plea hearing on 21 April.
The alleged offence does not involve any local people.
The prosecution, authorised by the CPS, follows an investigation by East Sussex detectives after information was received from a member of the public on 24 March and officers arrested Constable at his then address at Pagham Close in Eastbourne.
Police emphasise that Constable, who is currently on court bail, does not currently live in Sussex and that nobody at the Eastbourne address has any connection with the alleged offence.
