On Monday (27 March), Brian Hampson, the President of Eastbourne Sovereign Rotary Club, and his wife Freda (President elect), visited Eastbourne Swimming Club to present them with their donation of a security cage, for the club to keep all their training equipment in.
In a comment before the presentation, Brian said, “Eastbourne Sovereign Rotary Club have decided to support Eastbourne Swimming Club by providing new storage equipment because they have sustained a programme of teaching and encouraging young people to swim, with many going forward to competition levels. The Rotary Club also work with schools, Sea Cadets and the Eastbourne Voluntary Life Guards on a regular basis.”
The cage has gratefully been put into immediate use and now houses a range of swimming equipment to be used by the whole of Eastbourne Swimming Club, from our beginners right through to our top competitive level swimmers in Gold Squad.
Eastbourne Swimming Club’s Head Coach, Adrian Smith said that he was delighted to see the endeavours of the club being recognised by other like minded community Clubs and hoped we could build further on this great collaboration.
