Commuters in Eastbourne are once agan being hit by strikes on the railway.
Conductors with the RMT Union have walked out for 24 hours today (8 April), in what is their 31st day of action in the ongoing row with Southern. The dispute is over the future role of a second safety person on driver-only trains.
The Union believes removing the safety critical conductor and replacing them with an on board supervisor will be detrimental to passenger safety. Southern disagrees, saying they're improving customer service and modernising the system.
