The Eastbourne Eagles have opened the new season by lifting a trophy.
After their traditional Good Friday double whammy with Lakeside Hammers, the Eagles have claimed the first ever Lee Richardson Memorial Cup.
The cup was created in memory of Lee ‘Rico’ Richardson, who rode for both clubs and was sadly killed in speedway crash in Poland in 2012.
After the leg away at Arena Essex, the Eagles were trailing 48-42, but they made the most of the home advantage for the second leg, which they claimed 51-39, giving them an aggregate win of 93-87.
