We’re again being reminded not to let visitors into blocks of flats at Sovereign Harbour if we don’t know who they are.
It’s after a burglar got into a black in Caroline Way, North Harbour on Friday afternoon (28 April), after another man buzzed a property, asking for the communal door to be opened. The second person stole a number of items from the site.
PC Faulkner, Neighbourhood Constable for Eastbourne, said, “Security of building is a regular concern, especially where there is a communal entrance, or a large number of people coming and going from the address. Whilst it is something that residents can become relaxed about over time keeping doors secure, be them communal or private, even for just a few moments is essential to ensure that you don’t give burglars an easy time.
“We are actively investigating this matter, and with the help of the local community we hopefully with catch these criminals and bring them to justice.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 giving the reference 774 of 28/04/17.
