Eastbourne Bandstand will be hosting the biggest Eurovision Party in Sussex on 13 May, complete with a tribute act dedicated to the former Eurovision stars, ABBA.

The seafront music venue will transform into the ultimate Eurovision Party this month as the Bandstand runs its first ‘big screen event’ of the season. Audiences can enjoy the live action of the song contest with two big screens ready for audiences to cheer on this year’s hopeful acts.

The best-selling tribute act, Abba Girls, will be performing during the intermission; their performance will take audiences back in time to when ABBA won the Eurovision song contest in 1974 with ‘Waterloo’.

Eastbourne Borough Council Director of Tourism and Enterprise, Phil Evans said, “Eastbourne Bandstand has seen a tremendous amount of acts over the years, so where better to watch the Eurovision Song Contest than the iconic seafront venue?”

In true Eurovision style, visitors are encouraged to dress up whether it’s recreating a previous entrant’s look, such as Jedward’s signature hairstyle, or flying the flag for one of this year’s contenders. The best dressed contestant will be in with the chance of winning a prize.

Audiences can toast to the winning act with a drink from the bar which will be serving a variety of refreshments to enjoy in between dancing. Doors and the bar open at 6pm, screens start at 7pm.

The Eurovision Party is just one of the top events at the Bandstand this season with plenty of tribute acts, traditional concerts and themed nights for audiences to enjoy. This year’s highlights include tribute acts for musical legends such as Queen, Elvis and Elton John, as well as brand new tributes for the likes of Katy Perry and Pink, The Killers, Pet Shop Boys and Duran Duran. Audiences can step back in time with nostalgic nights including a Northern Soul Night and the Sound of the Sixties.
