Two charities have each received £1,500 from an Eastbourne restaurant.
Qualisea in Terminus Road, donated 50% of their takings on National Fish and Chip Day (2 June) to the JPK Project and St Wilfrid’s Hospice, as well as held a raffle to raise funds.
They wanted to fundraise for the causes, after their charity collection boxes were stolen from their takeaway counter last month.
Yesterday (14 June), the cheques were handed over and on presenting the money, Qualisea owner, Katerina Tutt said, “I’m very, very pleased for both the charities that it ended up with such a positive result from something so negative and I’d just like to thank all my customers for all their support. We had an amazing turnout on the evening of our charity event and we’re very, very grateful. We were inundated with the support that we had, so a big thank you.”
