It seems the authorities are still looking into a sinkhole that opened up in Eastbourne at the weekend.
Part of Wartling Road collapsed on Sunday (25 June) near to the DVLA Driving Test Centre.
At first, it was unclear who was responsible for repairing the road with engineers from various bodies arriving on the scene.
A spokesperson for Southern Water said, “We first became aware of a hole in the road in Wartling Road, Eastbourne on Monday (26 June) and deployed our crew immediately to investigate.
“We have found no issues with our sewer in the road and East Sussex County Council will be investigating the sink hole further.”
The County Council has informed Eastbourne Buzz that their Highways team has been in contact with both Southern Water and South East Water, with engineers from Highways returning to the site yesterday to carry out further investigations.
However, there is no word as yet, when the road will be repaired.
