It's hoped Sky broadband customers in Eastbourne will have their connections restored this evening (6 July), after more than 24 hours without the internet.

Some 32,000 customers are thought to be affected across East Sussex, after the construction of a fence caused multiple breaks in the fibre at seven locations.

Broadband and landline connections went down just after 3pm yesterday (5 July), with BT Openreach engineers and support teams on site since yesterday evening working to fix the problem.

According to the Sky Help Team Twitter feed, whilst the damaged cables have been replaced and they hope to have the connection fixed later today, although a few Eastbourne Buzz readers have reported their connection has been restored.
