An Eastbourne man has died after a crash in Heathfield.
Emergency services were called to Little London at 8.55am yesterday morning (5 June) after a commercial pick-up truck hit a tree on the A267 – the road was shut until about 2.30pm.
The 25-year-old passenger was airlifted to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious injuries where he later died.
The driver, a 56-year-old man from Eastbourne, was originally arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has since been rearrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been bailed until 22 September pending further enquiries.
