Roadworks, due to start in Eastbourne tomorrow (26 July), have been delayed.
Notices went up on the seafront, forewarning motorists about parking restrictions that would in place whilst the works were carried out. However, the notices have since been removed.
An East Sussex Highways spokesman said, "We were due to carry out carriageway patching in Grand Parade and King Edwards's Parade this week and signs were displayed to this effect.
"However, we subsequently became aware that events were being held at the nearby Bandstand during the scheduled dates, so the work has been postponed to avoid any disruption to those events.
"We will communicate the new date for the work locally when we have it."
