Eastbourne’s first ever Hot Air Balloon Festival went ahead in Hampden Park today (29 July), despite the bad weather.
The balloons were due to lift off at dawn, but owing to the wind, they were unable to do so.
However, the event still opened at 11am, with plenty of stalls and entertainment to keep the crowds entertained.
Sadly, the rain set in again at lunchtime, with a review due to be carried out at 7pm as to whether the night glow will go ahead. The fireworks display will be at 9.30pm, before the ground closes for the night at 10pm.
Tomorrow (30 July), will see more of the same, with the added extra of a dog show in Hampden Park.
