Happyjacks soft play are busy preparing for another Picnic in the Park, which is set to take place at Gildredge Park in Eastbourne on Tuesday 8 August from 10.30am to 3pm.
Last year’s event saw over 1,000 people descend on the park to enjoy activities from football to softplay, dancing to drumming and plenty in between. This year looks set to be just as action-packed, with softplay, a bouncy castle, drumming, dancing, martial arts, pre-school football and rugby and arts & crafts all confirmed for the day.
Over the past 3 years the event has raised over £3,000 for Chestnut Tree children’s hospice, and Happyjacks will be supporting the charity again this year.
“All of the activities in the arena on the day are being provided for free by local children’s businesses, with participants being asked to make a £1 donation to Chestnut Tree in order to take part,” explains Happyjacks owner Jaki Tompkins. “Along with the main arena there will also be many side stall activities to take part in, from arts & crafts to teddy tombolas - so much to do for the whole family.”
“We wanted to support Chestnut Tree as they do such amazing work with local families,” says Jaki. “They’ve also supported us all the way with the event; it’s been fantastic working with them.
“I would like to say a massive thank you to all of our suppliers for making this event possible. Everyone is welcome; bring along your picnics and your pounds and be prepared for a great day.”
