eastbourne buzz news - Coop Framfield Way Opening

The new-look Co-op in Framfield Way, Eastbourne, has had its official opening yesterday (12 August).

After a four-week closure and a makeover of nearly £500,000, the store is welcoming customers once again.

The shop will be collecting for charities, including SASBAH, which will use the money raised to give disabled young people a residential break, providing respite for their carers.

Ratton Councillor Colin Belsey said “We are very fortunate, we have a set of shops here that keep going. We don’t have any empty and we haven’t had any empty shops in the time I’ve lived here, which is nearly 20 years. There’s a good community of people that support their shops and the little Co-op here is brilliant.”

Ratton Councillor Colin Murdoch said, “The Co-op here in Framfield Way is such needed by the local community around here. You’ve got to understand, with a lot of sheltered housing around here, a lot of them can’t get out and get to the main shops, this Co-op serves them so well and it’s been sorely missed for the last four weeks. The upgrade will be much appreciated by the community.”
