Eastbourne Town are through to the next stage of the FA Cup, despite being reduced to just 9 men yesterday (19 August).
Away to Sutton Common Rovers in the Preliminary Round, David Smart picked up a yellow, before scoring the opening goal in added time before the break.
Chris Cumming-Bart doubled Town’s lead in the 52nd, only for Ethan Strevett and David Smart to both pick up red cards, leaving The Saffrons outfit with just 9 men on the pitch with plenty of time left on the clock.
Their hosts took full advantage and managed to pull one back, but it wasn’t enough and Town booked their place in the next round with a 1-2 win over Sutton Common Rovers.
Meanwhile, in the Sussex Senior Cup, Eastbourne Town have been drawn to host Seaford Town in the first round, which is likely to be played on 3 October.
