Eastbourne MP Disappointed With RMT Union

With more strike action due to hit commuters in Eastbourne next month, the town’s MP is calling on the RMT to think again.

Stephen Lloyd has said he is ‘disappointed’ the union has called 48hours of new industrial action in their long-running dispute with Southern over the introduction of driver-only trains. He believes they didn’t give the Transport Secretary enough time to respond to their letter, requesting round-table discussions before announcing the action, due to hit on Friday 1 September and Monday 4 September.

Now, Mr Lloyd has been telling Eastbourne Buzz, he’s calling on the union to postpone the action to allow discussions to resume:
