Residents, concerned that Prince William Parade in Eastbourne is dangerous for those looking to cross the road, are now calling for a consultation into double yellow lines along the road, to be suspended.
East Sussex County Council is looking at an area close to Blakes Way, planning to extend double yellow lines, to make the crossing point safer by the dropped kerbs. However, those who have received the consultation are confused, saying the plans say there are already lines in place, where in fact, there aren’t.
Eastbourne Access Group is also joining the call for County Hall to look again, believing the road is an accident waiting to happen.
East Sussex County Council has issued a response, which can be found here.
