The Eastbourne Academy attended a National Conference in London last Friday (8 September) to receive a plaque, celebrating the Academy's commitment and success in the SSAT's 'Embedding Formative Assessment' project.
The Eastbourne Academy was one of only 60 schools nationwide to be selected from over 300 to work with Professor Dylan Wiliam on a professional development project aimed at enhancing both teacher and pupil learning.
Teachers developed a range of innovative approaches designed to impact on pupil progress.
Teachers have felt energised by collaborating with Professor Wiliam and the pupils have benefited enormously, evident the Academy's fantastic Summer examination results.
Victoria Stevens, Vice Principal said, "I am incredibly proud of the staff's dedication and commitment to their own professional learning. The Academy is truly a learning community for both staff and pupils.”
