'Pevensey Bay Library Must Stay Open' Says MP

We find out later today (19 September), if the Cabinet of East Sussex County Council agrees that closing seven libraries is a good idea.

It’s proposed the move would save the authority £653,000 and if councillors vote in favour, we’ll go to a consultation to see whether we agree with them.

Among the libraries earmarked for potential closure are Willingdon, Polegate, Langney and Pevensey Bay.

MP Huw Merriman will be chairing a meeting into the future of Pevensey Bay’s library at the Priory Court Hotel in neighbouring Pevensey next Monday (25 September).
