Unemployment in Eastbourne and Willingdon has fallen.
48 fewer people claimed job related benefits last month compared to February.
The total number of 16 to 64-year-olds out of work in the area, now stands at 1,148, which is 165 fewer than March 2015.
Figures for youth unemployment also improved with 285 aged 18-24 unemployed, 30 lower than in March 2015.
The news has been welcomed by Eastbourne MP, Caroline Ansell: “These are encouraging figures but they also show that more needs to be done to get the figures even lower particularly with youth unemployment, which remains a priority for the Government to tackle," said Caroline.
“Various initiatives are helping to tackle the problem, including more apprentice opportunities, so I hope the figure will continue to fall.”
