More than 120 volunteers took part in this year’s National Beach Clean Campaign in Eastbourne.
Joining up with the Borough Council’s Neighbourhood First Team, they spent two hours cleaning up beaches between Holywell to the lifeguard post at the Wish Tower earlier this month.
Volunteers included the 1st Seaside Scout Group, 3rd Eastbourne Scout Group and those who travelled all the way from London braving the usual weekend engineering works.
Cllr Jonathan Dow, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Place Services, said, "We were really bowled over by the huge effort from so many volunteers so a big thank you to everyone. It was fantastic to see such a community spirit involved in the clean up."
