Eastbourne Police will be out on Operation Blitz patrol again tonight and tomorrow night (29 & 30 September).
Last weekend, officers targeted several known hot spots, including Meadows Nursery car park, Sevenoaks Road car park and Gildredge Park, where PCSOs found six youths, some of which were in possession of cannabis. As a result, two 16-year-old boys will be issued with Community Resolutions.
Also in the park, the PSCOs found an abandoned bike, which was taken to Hammonds Drive for safe keeping.
Officers also checked Motcombe Gardens, Bowls Club, allotments, and Archery Recreation Ground in Seaside, Asda/Crumbles and Waterfront car park, but there were no reported problems there.
On the Saturday night, PCSO’s checked the rear car park of Asda at The Crumbles twice and on their second visit found several trollies that had been dumped on the slip road, causing a Road Safety Hazard and were removed.
They also patrolled Sevenoaks car park, where there had been reports of vehicles doing donuts and excessive noise, as well as Meadows Nursery, were there were reports of youths gathering, but nothing was found at either location.
PCSOs also responded to reports of youths causing criminal damage to the café near to the Redoubt Fortress, but no one was found and no visible damage was seen.
