A whopping £53,695 has been raised at a charity ball in Eastbourne.
The Phantom Masquerade Ball was held at the Winter Garden to raise funds for the Children’s Respite Trust.
Nearly 400 people attended the gala, which had a Phantom of the Opera theme and was sponsored by 21 businesses. Guests arrived to a drinks reception, accompanied by pianist, Peter Wilson and magician, Justin Saul.
Entertainment continued throughout dinner, with the evening compered by Heart FM’s, Lynsey Bartlett. There were plenty of prizes on offer, with a raffle and a game of Heads and Tails, before auctioneer, Con Cronin, took bids on various lots, including holidays, a trip to the West End and tour of the Houses of Parliament, which was auctioned off by Stephen Lloyd, MP.
After dinner, the Lady Luxe casino opened and the dance floor filled up with happy ball-goer, who were kept on their toes by the Big Kahuna.
The money raised will go towards the charity’s work of providing respite for disabled children and supporting their families.
