The Eastbourne Eagles will go into the second leg of the National League Play Offs semi-final with high hopes of making the final.
They restricted the Kent Kings to a two-point lead in the first leg last night (2 October) at Central Park, Sittingbourne.
In fact, it took as maximum heat win from the home team to give them any sort of lead at all.
Connor Dugard, team manager of the Eagles, was naturally delighted with his team’s performance. However, he cautioned against any complacency, saying the tie was only at half-time, “The boys put in a fabulous shift at Kent tonight. It was exactly what I hoped for.
“We were focussed and rode well and we deserved not to lose, in reality. However, we must remember that Kent won convincingly at Arlington as few weeks ago in the league, so we know we can take nothing for granted.
“It will be all the more difficult because Jake Knight is banned from riding. Our team will have to be totally on their game to ensure we make the Play Off final.”
