Tennis fever is set to be an ace event at Eastbourne Arndale Centre this weekend (June 18 and 19).
There will be a host of free tennis inspired activities in the Centre from 11am until 4pm to mark the town’s annual international AEGON tennis tournament at the Devonshire Park.
Youngsters will be able to try out their tennis skills by taking part in an interactive swing game where they will hit a ball and aim for the bull’s-eye on a dartboard style target. Everyone who takes part will have their score recorded on a leader board.
In addition, there will be the chance to take part in workshops to design tennis caps and sweatbands that children can then take home.
Meads Lawn Tennis Club will also be taking part in the event to explain about their children’s tennis clubs that will be held during the summer holidays.
Eastbourne Arndale Centre Manager Bill Plumridge said, “It is fantastic for Eastbourne to host one of the UK’s top tennis tournaments every year so we didn’t want to miss the chance to join in with some tennis fun. We hope as many youngsters as possible will come along and take part in our free event in the run up to tennis week.”
