The day after Southern Rail managers met with commuters in Eastbourne, the company has been slammed in Parliament.
At Prime Minister’s Questions today (29 June), David Cameron hit out first at the strike action taken by the RMT Union saying, “I condemn any industrial action that disrupts the travelling public,” before laying into Southern itself, “The performance of Southern has been unacceptable and passengers deserve better.”
Southern insist they are working to improve services and are calling on workers to return to their jobs as normal. They also say they fully understand passengers’ frustrations with the current service and agree it’s not good enough.
