Cavendish School in Eastbourne has announced it will be affected by next week’s strike action.
Members of the National Union of Teachers are taking industrial action in relation to the protection of pay and working conditions.
On Tuesday (5 July), the school will be partially open to Reception and Year 7 students. Headteacher PJ Marchant said, “However, there is the opportunity for any child in Years 8-10 who would like to attend school for supervised study only. Students who take up this opportunity will not be taught in formal lessons and will be required to bring in enough work for the entire day. Please contact Reception in advance of 5 July if your child will be attending.
I do recognise the impact this has on parents, carers and the students; however, in reaching this decision, the Chair of Governors and I have fully considered the Health and Safety of the students which is our highest priority.”
The school will be open as usual on Wednesday 6 July.
