Several schools across Eastbourne face closure or partial closure on Tuesday (5 July) owing to strike action by members of the National Union of Teachers.
The following schools have confirmed they will be partially closed:
Ratton School Academy Trust – only open to Year 6 students going to Ratton for a Taster day. Closed for students Years 7-10.
Stafford Junior School – closed to Years 3-5. Children in Year 6 should attend their transition day at their secondary schools as planned unless notified otherwise. Year 2 will visit Stafford as planned during the morning.
Stone Cross School - Nuthatches, Owls and Flamingo will be closed. All other classes are unaffected.
The Bishop Bell CofE School - open to Year 7 pupils and to new Year 6 pupils having their taster day. School will be closed to other pupils.
The Causeway School – Open for Year 6 Taster Day. Year 7 are expected to attend school as normal. Year 10 are expected to attend their college taster day as arranged. School will be closed for Year 8 and Year 9.
The Cavendish School - open to Reception Classes and year 7. Year 10 pupils should still attend college taster day.
The Eastbourne Academy – only open to students in the current Years 10 and 11. The Induction Day for Year 6 students coming from their Primary and Junior Schools will still go ahead on that day and so any Year 8 student who has trained as a Buddy will need to go to school. Students in Years 8 and 9 will not be in school.
The South Downs School - partial closures at all site. Parents should have been informed direct.
Willingdon Community School – Open for all Year 7 students only. In addition, the school will be open for those students in other year groups for whom parents are unable to arrange appropriate child care on that day.

St John's Meads Church of England Primary School
Tollgate Community Junior School
The Haven Voluntary Aided CE Methodist Primary School
