Eastbourne MP Caroline Ansell has attended a service conducted by the former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams at Christ Church.
A legacy from the late John Harrison, together with a donation from the John Jackson Memorial Trust, has enabled the church to build a new community space at the base of the tower and this was celebrated in the service.
All the windows on the south aisle have also been refurbished and restored thanks to a recent donation.
“Congratulations to the young people who were confirmed during the service and it was a pleasure to meet former the Archbishop, who took the time to take part and talk to parishioners,” said Caroline.
“Christ Church is taking up an increasingly important role at the heart of this community. The changes to the Tower will enhance the work it does to bring the community together and it was an honour to be invited.”
