An Eastbourne nursery’s celebrating a cash boost from the police.

The Jenny Wren Nursey School received a cheque, thanks to the Police Property Act Fund, made up of monies received from property confiscated by order of the court and then sold.

Teacher/co-manager Dawn Findon said, “All the staff and children at Jenny Wren Nursery School would like to convey their gratitude for the money donated from the Police Property Fund.

"We intend to use the money to purchase talking tubes to encourage communication and listening skills and to enrich the outdoor learning environment. We would also like to purchase a multi-sensory mathematical set to help give the children an understanding of numbers and problem solving.

"We are a small friendly nursery offering a warm, secure and nurturing environment for children aged three and four years old. For further information, please email jennywrennursery@yahoo.com or ring 01323 731891”.
