St Catherine’s College, the new name for Bishop Bell CE School in Eastbourne, has announced its new head boy and head girl.
The Priory Road school has chosen Luke Herring and Megan Meeks for the top slots, with the two deputy positions going to Naomi Jervis and Amy Gibson.
14-year-old Megan is passionate about singing and acting, enjoys playing stoolball and loves animals. She is thrilled to have been given this opportunity and can't wait to begin an exciting new chapter with the school.
“My main focus for St Catherine's is to make sure every pupil has a voice and that they are able to express it. I want to help students to become the best version of themselves so they can gain confidence and flourish,” she said.
Luke, 15, likes to watch films, ride roller-coasters and play table tennis. He feels that being given this role is a massive privilege.
“Being able to help guide students to enhance their different abilities is one of my main motivations and I’m looking forward very much to collaborating with students and staff in how the school can be made even better,” he said.
Headteacher Mark Talbot is delighted with the appointments and said, “It was a pleasure to interview the candidates for head boy and head girl this year. After an evening of presentations, those who had shone through the interview process presented their vision for the role and I am delighted with the students who were chosen.”
