Eastbourne and Willingdon MP Caroline Ansell has paid tribute to the work of the district’s Scout Association when she attended their annual general meeting.
The event, at the Bushy Wood Scout Camp & Activity Centre, was a chance for all those involved in Eastbourne District Scout Association to reflect on its achievements during the last 12 months.
“It was a really great to hear of all the successes of the year and be able to thank leaders for their commitment to these young lives and to see first-hand just how important that input is,” said Caroline.
“The value of scouting and the opportunities it brings to build confidence, friendship and skills is incontestable.
“Its popularity is also beyond doubt with long waiting lists for would-be cubs and scouts all across the country and in our own area too.
“So if you remember your scouting days with a smile or have seen your own child flourish, perhaps you could find out about getting involved?”
