Kiss Me Quickstep will be THE theatrical event at the Winter Garden this summer (29 July – 14 August), and casting has just been confirmed to include the brilliant Alan Burkitt who returns to Eastbourne following his jaw-dropingly good performance in the fantastic Top Hat at the Congress Theatre last year.

Alan, whose previous credits also include Singin’ in the Rain and 42nd Street at Chichester Festival Theatre, We Will Rock You in the West End and The Prince in Adam Cooper’s Shall We Dance at Sadlers Wells (to name but a few), is one of the most accomplished actor dancers of his generation, to have him confirmed for Kiss Me Quickstep is something of a coup for the theatre!

Kiss Me Quickstep is an exciting theatrical venture for the Winter Garden, which is being transformed with the addition of raised seating to create a brand-new space (turning the dancefloor into a ‘Theatre in the round’). The show is a bitter-sweet comedy, from the pen of acclaimed playwright Amanda Whittington, set against the finals of the Blackpool National Amateur Dance Championships, so expect plenty of fake tan and feathers, sequins and smudged mascara (from tears of both laughter and sadness) as we witness three very different couples following their dancefloor dreams.

It’s a great night out for Strictly and drama fans alike and with great reviews it’s the perfect pick-me-up night out. Don’t miss your chance to see the heart-warming play Kiss Me Quickstep (29 July – 14 August) at the Winter Garden from 29 July – 14 August. Tickets from £16 - £21, with student and under 16’s at £9 and under 25 years just £10, available online or call Box Office on 01323 412000.
