A Second World War bomb has been discovered near Belle Tout.
Birling Gap Coastguard were called to the beach under the lighthouse, east of Beachy Head on Thursday afternoon (7 July).
After a search, photos were sent to Dover, where it was confirmed the object was a WW2 ordnance and the Bomb Disposal Squad was sent to the scene. The cliff top was cleared and the road closed to allow a controlled explosion to be carried out.
