Four teenagers and a man have been attacked in Eastbourne town centre.

They were in McDonalds in Terminus Road at 9.15pm on Sunday (17 April) when they were kicked and punched by three girls.

Eventually, the man was able to get the girls out of the restaurant, where he was subjected to a further attack involving a bottle and a knife. He was able to defend himself and tackled one of the girls to the ground, ending the violence.

Paramedics were called, but none of the victims needed hospital treatment.

Three girls – two aged 17, one aged 16 – were arrested on suspicion of affray and assault and have been bailed until 16 May, pending further enquiries.
