MP Caroline Ansell is calling on communities across Eastbourne and Willingdon to enter the Great British High Street competition for 2016.
The initiative, now in its third year, rewards the great work in our high streets and is an opportunity for businesses, community groups, councils, and volunteers to learn from the very best.
“Eastbourne has a super mix of independent shops and chains and the whole town is a great retail attraction, so I will be proud to support anyone who wants to nominate a street or an individual and I wish them the best of luck,” said Caroline.
“There are different competition categories to enter, from nominating a whole street to celebrating the work an individual employee is doing in a single shop. This competition is all about celebrating the importance of the retail sector to our economy here in Eastbourne, which is so important.”
Last year’s competition saw a record-breaking 230 entries and attracted over 200,000 public votes, with Bishy Road in York crowned Britain’s best. With prizes of up to £10,000 on offer, competition is expected be fierce.
Details of how to enter the competition can be found here.
