Herstmonceux Man Dies In A22 Crash

A man from Herstmonceux has died in a crash on the A22 at Uckfield.

The 59-year-old was riding a blue BMW K1600GT motorbike when the collision happened between the Copwood and Little Horsted roundabouts at about 7.54am this morning (21 July).

Police and the air ambulance were called, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of a white Mercedes CLS400 – a 48-year-old man from Hove – was uninjured. He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remained in police custody as of 4pm.

No other people were involved in the collision.
