Eastbourne’s Towner Art Gallery has been awarded £150,000 in funding.
The cash from Arts Council England will help to support more successful and sustainable fundraising activities. The Towner had applied to the Catalyst: Evolve programme, which is designed to attract more private giving.
Peter Heslip, Director, South East, Arts Council England, said, “We’re really pleased to be able to support so many organisations across the South East to develop their fundraising capacity. We were impressed by the level of demand for this scheme from the arts sector keen to develop new income streams and philanthropic networks. I look forward to seeing all of them realise their plans over the next three years.”
The Evolve fund will help organisations develop successful and sustainable fundraising models by investing in their capacity. Money raised will be matched by the fund over a period of three years. It is expected that organisations will continue to generate new money for the sector beyond the end of the grant programme.
