The Lammas Festival is back in Eastbourne this weekend (30-31 July).
Celebrating its 14th year, the event on the Western Lawns will be raising money for Eastbourne Lifeboats, who will carry out a sea demonstration tomorrow morning at 11am.
As well as a host of stalls, visitors will be treated to performances from Hunters Moon Morris Men, Pentacle Drummers, Rampant Rooster and Black Swan Morris Dancers. Today (30 July) there’ll be dancing on the pier and a procession up to the Western Lawns at 12.15pm.
The festival marks the cutting of the first corn crop, a traditional celebration of the harvest.
